About
Dr. Lea Anne Daughrity began working at SMU in 2022 as a STEM Research Fellow in the Technology Enhanced Immersive Learning (TEIL) Cluster in the Simmons College of Education. In her current role, she works on immersive and embodied learning research projects in STEM under the guidance of Dr. Lin Lipsmeyer, Dr. Tony Cuevas, and Dr. Richard Duschl. She holds a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas, an M.S. in Instructional Technology and Library Sciences from TAMUC, an M.S. in Public Relations, and a B.A. in Communications from The University of Alabama. Dr. Daughrity's research interest focuses on learning experience design in immersive and embodied learning.
At SMU, Dr. Daughrity is working on a variety of projects in the Simmons School of Education that include: 1) AI and Robots in the Classroom, 2) Immersive Learning of Literacy, 3) Embodied Learning with Math Concepts, 4) and through the Lyle School of Engineering, she is helping to develop SMU STEM Summer Camp opportunities.
