About

Marcia Thomas is the Instructional Coach for Project STAIR with RME at SMU. She has 8 years of experience in the classroom. In her 8 years, she has taught 6th – 8th grade mathematics, written curriculum and served as a Grade Level Administrator, Math Department Chair, Math Interventionist and Student Support Coordinator. She has also collaborated with campus and community stakeholders to open a K-8 school in 2017. Her specialty is working with students experiencing difficulty in math as well as an advocate for students with disabilities. In 2015, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Middle School Math Education from Baylor University and is TEA certified in Mathematics 4-8. She earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2018.
