About

Suzanne L. Maxwell is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at Southern Methodist University’s School of Education and Human Development.  As a member of the Department of Counseling and Dispute Resolution, she is actively involved with the department and students, sharing her knowledge of coaching, organizational transformation and organizational behavior.  

Dr. Maxwell is an experienced executive leadership coach and management consultant who partners with clients to identify and solve their most pressing business issues and achieve desired business results. She also supports professionals as they clarify career and life goals and create action plans to achieve what’s important to them.  She is best known for her collaborative and inspiring leadership style and strong client relationship skills which have earned her a reputation for service excellence. 

With over 20 years of domestic and international business consulting and project management experience, Dr. Maxwell’s clients benefit from her straightforward approach that is based on real life, pragmatic knowledge.  Her teaching, coaching and consulting combines her deep understanding of the human and social behavior with knowledge gained through practical business experience with individuals, teams and organizations. 

In addition to her demonstrated expertise in Executive and Professional Coaching, she also assists clients with Organizational Change, Strategy Development, Executive Team Facilitation, Project and Implementation Management, and Leadership Development.  

Suzanne’s passion is to ensure the success of executives who are facing a variety of changes and to enable them to repeat that success over and over again.  She provides new managers with the advantage of understanding and increasing their impact as executives.  She works with executives to enhance their success through goal clarification and targeted action planning.  She assists management teams during organizational change by pinpointing the desired outcomes and designing implementation plans.

Suzanne received her PhD in Sociology with a specialization in Social Psychology from Texas A&M University and her MA and BA in Sociology from University of Memphis.  She graduated from the University of Texas – Dallas Executive and Professional Graduation Certification Program and from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Graduate Certification Program at Southern Methodist University.  She is recognized as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coach Federation and is an active member of both the global and local organization.

Suzanne has lived and worked in the USA, Canada and Europe and has extensive business experience in a wide range of leadership positions and multinational roles. She has worked with C-level executives, Senior Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers in the following industry sectors:  technology, oil and gas, finance, manufacturing, construction, transportation, professional services, nonprofit and higher education.
