About

Tiffany Wicks, Ed.D. is a licensed professional counselor, owning two private practices in Texas and Connecticut. Dr. Wicks has worked in school and agency settings before starting a private practice for birthing people in the perinatal period. Tiffany is passionate about the issue equity, and is committed to making mental health accessible, affordable, and inclusive for the community. Tiffany received her Master’s in Counseling from SMU, and her Ed.D. at Johns Hopkins University. Her research pertains to childbirth and patient advocacy education as intervention on the issue of maternal mortality for Black pregnant women. In addition to counseling and research, Tiffany started her own scholarly, open access journal centering the topic of equity in various professional fields. Tiffany believes there is always hope for people to change and heal but sometimes the tools need to be accessible and come with a manual, which is the process of therapy.
