Dr. Kinsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, a National Certified Counselor, and a professional member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. He earned his Masters of Science degree in Counseling at Southern Methodist University in 2010 and his Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2015. Dr. Kinsey maintains a full-time private practice at The Montfort Group in Plano, TX where he specializes in sex therapy and relationship counseling. He also specializes in LGBT issues in counseling, identity development, and spiritual/family trauma. In addition to his counseling practice, Dr. Kinsey is an active researcher who explores the basic nature of the sexual-self – a phrase he uses to describe the essence of who people are as sexual beings including the lessons they've learned, the beliefs they hold, and the emotions their sexuality invokes.

Dr. Kinsey is an active teacher, speaker, and writer on the topics of sexuality, sexual identity development, human sexual development, relationship counseling, spiritual development, sexual and spiritual integration, and integral counseling theory. He has numerous publications on these topics in professional counseling journals and regularly presents at local, state, and national counseling association conferences.
