Gilman Scholarship

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State, provides support to students with limited financial means in order to help them study or intern abroad.  Gilman funds students who are seeking greater linguistic and cultural proficiency alongside other academic and career-development skills that will have an impact on their professional path.  Awardees receive up to $5000 to be used toward eligible abroad costs (including tuition, housing, meals, and transportation).  Students of all majors are encouraged to apply!

SMU students recently have received Gilman Scholarships to study abroad in Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, and Spain.
