Faculty Promotion and Tenure
The Promotion and Tenure policy and procedures are supervised under the direction of the Associate Provost for Faculty & Academic Resources.

Promotion & Tenure timeline at the Provost Committee Level
The principal factors to be considered in evaluations for promotion and for the award of tenure are teaching and distinction in scholarship or research. In order to be considered for promotion, the faculty member must have substantial achievement of outstanding quality in either teaching or research and whose performance in the other is of high quality. Appropriate reviews at the department, and school are required with recommendation submitted before it goes up for approval at the Provost level. The Provost makes the final recommendation to the President and Board of Trustees.
All schools must have promotion and tenure criteria that have been reviewed and approved by their dean and by the office of the Associate Provost for Faculty & Academic Resources.
