Big iDeas

Congratulations to our Business Plan Competition winners!

The Big iDeas Business Plan Competition brings together undergraduate entrepreneurs from every corner of campus to pitch for up to $5000 in seed funding for their start-up. To prepare for the rigorous competition, students attend the Big iDeas E-Launch series to build their business plans, craft their pitch decks, and master their pitches. Judges drawn from the Dallas business community review the business plans and discuss the plan with the students after their five-minute pitch. Ultimately the judges choose ideas which seem likely to succeed and have an impact that reverberates through the community. Winners of the competition receive access to the Incubator@SMU, our startup hub located in Expressway Tower and participate in our Mustang Mentors program. With guidance and coaching throughout the following year, they use their seed funds to grow their ventures. Big iDeas is the place where ideas meet impact!

The Big iDeas program hosts pitch competitions and provides training and coaching for entrepreneurial projects. Undergraduate students of any major are welcome to participate.
