Each SMU Continuing and Professional Education program follows the development and delivery process described below. Although new programs receive priority, an academic unit may choose to update existing programs by utilizing this process:

  1. Program identified
  2. Preliminary design
  3. Market Research
  4. MOU
  5. Collaborative budget
  6. CEPC approval
  7. EPC recommendation
  8. Presentation to the Board of Trustees, if required
  9. SACSCOC pre-approval, if required
  10. Course Production and Marketing Campaign Deployment
  11. Enrollment, payment, and admissions
  12. Platform management
  13. Records
  14. Revenue disbursement
