Each SMU continuing education program follows the development and delivery process described below. Although new programs receive priority, an academic unit may choose to update existing programs by utilizing this process:

  1. Program identified
  2. Preliminary design
  3. Market Research
  4. MOU
  5. Collaborative budget
  6. CEPC approval
  7. EPC recommendation
  8. Presentation to the Board of Trustees, if required
  9. SACSCOC pre-approval, if required
  10. Enrollment, payment, and admissions
  11. Platform management
  12. Records
  13. Revenue disbursement
