Meet the Admission Team

Admissions staff

Margot Perez-Greene

Associate Dean of Enrollment Management
Selecman Hall 113

I’m Margot Perez-Greene and have the privilege of leading a team of passionate recruitment and admissions personnel who arrive at the office every day looking for ways to help make theological education possible and the process seamless. They understand the complexities that range from call to ministry to reorganizing one’s life to answer the call. I am an Elder in The United Methodist Church and have been in higher education for more years than I wish to disclose! I’ve been a Hilltopper (St. Edward’s University, Austin), Sun Devil (Arizona State University, Tempe), Longhorn (University of Texas at Austin) and a Mustang (2011 Perkins grad). I, too, am passionate about doing whatever it takes to ease the admissions and registration process. And, when I’m not fulfilling my responsibilities at Perkins, I’m enjoying cooking, reading, art, shopping, traveling, and being with family and friends.

Stephen Bagby

Director of Recruitment and Admission
Selecman Hall 112

In my role as Director of Recruitment and Admission, I have the pleasure of meeting prospective students, hearing about their calls to ministry, and helping them through the admission process. One of my greatest joys is calling applicants to let them know they’ve been accepted to Perkins School of Theology! When I’m not at Perkins, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and three kids. Our family also likes taking advantage of Dallas’ incredible Tex-Mex cuisine, and in the evenings I enjoy hanging out with my wife and reading literature and theology. If you’re in the SMU area, please come by and say ‘Hi’ to our team in Selecman 112!

Caleb Palmer

Ministry Discernment Associate
Selecman Hall 210A

Hello from the road! If I am not in the office, I am likely on a college campus or in a far, distant city, talking with students and connecting with the community. Theological education is big decision and as a Ministry Discernment Associate, I help students discover, own and implement their call. But if I am not deep in a conversation about faith and theology, I’ve got my nose in a book. I do enjoy a good film, and it is always nice to get outdoors. If I am in town, my door is always open! So let’s grab a cup of coffee sometime. I’m looking forward to it!

Jean Nixon

Jon Herrin

Recruitment and Admission Associate

I’m Jon Herrin, and it’s a joy to be an admissions coordinator in the amazing work and ministry that the Perkins School of Theology is doing here…and around the world. Theological education has shaped my life in amazing ways, and I’m excited about guiding and encouraging others who are setting out on this life-changing path. My particular area of focus is the Master of Theology in Spanish program. This work allows me to bring together 15 years of parish service, seven years of mission service in Latin America, and my passion for education, a passion revealed in one bachelor’s degree, four master’s degrees and a doctorate! My wife, Jeanne, and I have been married almost 30 years, and we have three amazing grown children who make us very proud. My hobbies and interests are linguistics, public speaking, hiking, reading and espresso!
