Events Type Definitions

Academic : Event relating to a specific class.
For example: Physics study session, Thesis paper presentation.
Department: Event relating to a specific Department- Faculty/Staff only.
For example: Math Faculty meeting, Staff Development meeting.
Meadows Master Calendar: To be used by Meadows' Schedulers only.
Organization: Event relating to a student organization.
For example: Ballroom Dancing Club meeting, Chemistry Society meeting.
Other: Event not relating to any other event type.
For example: AARO, Conference Services, Customer outside SMU.
Plano: To be used by Plano Schedulers only.
Dedman Center-Athletic: To be used by Dedman Center Schedulers only.
Dedman Center-Conference Services: To be used by Dedman Center Schedulers only.
Dedman Center-Other: To be used by Dedman Center Schedulers only.
Dedman Center-Student Affairs: To be used by Dedman Center Schedulers only.
Dedman Center-Student Organization: To be used by Dedman Center Schedulers only.

The term code is always 4-digits.

Security Certificate Error Message

If you encounter the above error message in Schedule.SMU please complete the following steps to resolve it:

  1. Add http://s31ica.systems.smu.edu as a Trusted Site under the Internet Options: Security tab.
  2. Clear the checkbox that would require https for all sites in this zone.
  3. Change the security level of the Trusted Sites by clicking the Custom Level button. Scroll about ¼ of the way down the list to Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting and select Enable.

In Internet Explorer 9 if you receive a pop-up error message while using Schedule.SMU you will need to follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Clear the browser cache (by pressing ctrl+shift+delete, then click "delete" on the dialogue box that appears)
  2. Close the browser.
  3. Relaunch the browser.
  4. Turn on the browser's compatibility mode, as illustrated in the picture below:
