Configuring Gmail to Retrieve your SMU Email

  1. Login to your gmail account
  2. Locate the Gear icon in the top right corner
  3. Select Settings
  4. Click the Accounts tab
  5. Locate the Check mail from other accounts (using POP3) section and click Add a POP3 mail account you own.
  6. Enter your SMU Email address
  7. Click Next Step
  8. In the username field, enter (ex:
  9. Enter your account password
  10. The server should be and the port should be 995
  11. Ensure that the "always use a secure connection SSL" option is checked
  12. Select any other options that you would like.
  13. Click Add Account
