As SMU plans to return instruction to campus (as well as to online students) in Summer 2 and Fall -- your school's Academic Technology Service Director (ATSD) and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) have developed new and improved SMU Canvas Course Templates to assist you more easily improve the quality and consistency of your online course! If you are interested in learning more about the new Canvas course template and how to apply it to your course please reach submit a request to the main OIT Help Desk. Utilizing one of SMU's new Canvas course templates is an easy way to improve online experiences for both in-person and online students alike.

If you would like to practice leading a Zoom session with students, we can help with that!
Fill out the Zoom Practice Request form, and one of our technology students will be in touch! The students can join your session and provide help as needed as you try out different aspects of Zoom, such as sharing your screen.

Center for Teaching Excellence: Instructional Design Consultation
SMU’s Center for Teaching Excellence is available to schedule consultation requests from faculty who are in need of help with pedagogical strategies related to teaching online. Consultation sessions typically last up to 45 minutes, and these consultations can happen in small groups ad well as 1:1 virtually.
