Seismology professor Brian Stump, Ph.D., is an expert in seismic wave propagation and was the media source for a spate of small earthquakes that jostled North Texas. His research includes earthquake source theory and explosions (including mining explosions) as a source of seismic waves, and he teaches a course on science and politics in the nuclear age.
