SMU presents the 26th annual Sing Song

The 26^th Annual Sing Song, a special evening of musical performances by SMU students, will be featured during Founder’s Day Weekend at 8 p.m. Friday, April 11, in McFarlin Auditorium. Sing Song is a themed competition, sponsored by SMU’s Program Council, between groups across campus who create an original 10-12 minute skit with songs and dance according to a theme. This year’s theme is POP ICONS.

Tickets are on sale online: $10 for students and $12 for non-students. Tickets purchased at the door will be $12 for students and $15 for non-students.

“This is such a unique event because it brings together groups from all over campus. People love competitions, love prizes, and love music...so when you put all of that together, you get Sing Song,” says Geenah Krisht, president of Program Council.

This year’s performance groups include Chi Omega and Sigma Chi, Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma and Beta Upsilon Chi, Lyle School of Engineering and Theta Tau, and Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Alpha Order. Kelsey Cordutsky and Student Body President Ramon Trespalacios are hosting this year’s event.

“It has been around for so long, it has definitely become a cornerstone event on this campus. People look forward to seeing the tradition grow and evolve every year,” says Krisht.
