SMU is closely monitoring information related to a patient being treated for Ebola in Dallas’ Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Centers for Disease Control Director Thomas Frieden said Sept. 30 that U.S. hospitals have all the necessary infrastructure needed “to stop Ebola in its tracks” in the United States. The CDC and the Texas Department of State Health Services are working with the Dallas County Health Department and the hospital to manage the case.
Important information about Ebola is available from the Centers for Disease Control at http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/transmission/qas.html and from Texas Health Resources at http://texashealth.org/ebola-answers. SMU has established protocols in place and maintains working relationships with appropriate health agencies with regard to any communicable disease.
We will update this page as new information becomes available from the Centers for Disease Control and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
