Bush Library celebrating first year open to public with special events

The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will be celebrating its first year anniversary of being open to the public with a variety of special events on May 1.

What: The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will be celebrating its first year anniversary of being open to the public with a variety of special events throughout the day. Video presentations will be made and documents and artifacts will be highlighted as well.
When: Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

More Info: Since May 1, 2013, the George W. Bush Library and Museum has hosted over 435,000 visitors. This number exceeded previous estimations which projected 350,000 visitors for the first calendar year.

Included in every visitors price of admission is entry into the Bush Library’s special exhibit, “The Art of Leadership: A President’s Personal Diplomacy.”

This special exhibit explores the relationships that President George W. Bush forged with world leaders to shape international policy and advance American interests abroad. The exhibit features thirty never-before-exhibited portraits painted by President Bush and are accompanied by artifacts, photographs, and personal reflections to help illustrate the narrative of relationships formed on the world stage. The exhibit educates and informs visitors about the important role leadership plays in global diplomacy, and provides an insider’s view into President Bush’s unique relationships with other world leaders. The Art of Leadership: A President’s Personal Diplomacy opened to the public on April 5 and will run until June 3.
