Israel-Palestine peace and prayer rally at SMU Aug. 2

SMU Embrey Human Rights Program students and peace supporters from across the region will gather at SMU Saturday, Aug. 2, for a Peace and Prayer Rally calling for an end to the current bloodshed.

Dallas (SMU) — With the Israeli-Palestinian conflict death toll rising to more than 1,200 and no lasting cease-fire in sight, SMU Embrey Human Rights Program students and peace supporters from across the region will gather at SMU Saturday, Aug. 2, for a Peace and Prayer Rally calling for an end to the bloodshed.

“Speaking on behalf of many SMU students who value learning about other cultures and religions to see the global picture, why can’t we show the world it is possible to love beyond our differences?” says event organizer Amber Jackson, a senior double-majoring in human rights and political science.
