Important game day parking information for faculty and staff

Important game day parking information for faculty and staff for the August 30 game against Texas Tech at Ford Stadium.

The SMU community welcomes visitors to its home football games and strives to meet their parking needs on game day. In that spirit of cordiality, we ask many of our students, faculty, and staff to temporarily relocate their vehicles on game day and the evening before.

SMU will play Texas Tech on FRIDAY, August 30, at 7 p.m. in Ford Stadium. Therefore, residential students have been asked to relocate their vehicles from lots and garages in the southern areas of the campus to the Airline and Law garages or to the Heroy Lot north of Dallas Hall by 11 p.m. THURSDAY.

This means that faculty and staff who normally park in these facilities may find little or no parking available there on FRIDAY. If you cannot find a parking spot, you may seek additional parking near Ford Stadium, including the Moody and Binkley garages. (See the areas indicated with red on the map below.) However, these lots must be vacated by 5 p.m. FRIDAY.

Additional parking also is available on East Campus next to Expressway Tower and at the DART Rail Station. (Indicated in green on the map below.)  Both are serviced by the Mustang Express on the normal schedule, as well as the Game Day Shuttle which runs until 1 hour after the game.

Faculty and staff are reminded that the communities of Highland Park and University Park have established resident-only parking areas near the SMU campus. Cars without resident parking or guest permits may be cited or towed by the Park Cities police departments.
