SMU celebrates the MLK's legacy

The SMU community celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in January with a week of events in partnership with Paul Quinn College of Dallas. See the slide show and video.

MLK Unity Walk 2009The SMU community celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in January with a week of events in partnership with Paul Quinn College of Dallas.

Events included a Presidential Inauguration Watch Party and Unity Mixer at Hughes-Trigg Student Center and the annual Unity Walk on Bishop Boulevard, led by President R. Gerald Turner, to honor the civil rights movement. Students, faculty and staff also served lunch as part of a community service project with Cornerstone Baptist Church Homeless Outreach Ministry.
