Meadows Celebrates the Memory and Life of Distinguished Visiting Professor Rick Lester.

The nationally known arts consultant helped create SMU’s National Center for Arts Research

Meadows mourns the loss of Distinguished Visiting Professor Rick Lester. Lester, the CEO of arts consulting firm TRG Arts in Colorado Springs,  passed away Saturday while participating in the Courage Classic bicycle ride to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Lester taught a graduate-level “Marketing the Arts” class each spring in the Meadows Division of Arts Management and Arts Entrepreneurship. He was an instrumental partner in the founding of the Meadows National Center for Arts Research and served on its board, and was a valued friend and colleague to both faculty and students at SMU.

Funeral arrangements in Colorado are pending. For more information, please visit http://blog.smu.edu/artsresearch/2013/07/22/rick-lester-visionary-mentor-colleague-friend/ and the TRG website http://www.trgarts.com/Blog/BlogPost/tabid/136/ArticleId/185/In-Memory-and-Appreciation-Rick-Lester.aspx
