The SMU Institute for Young Pianists is an intensive, performance-based experience for pre-collegiate students. The Institute includes private lessons, master classes, and a variety of group experiences exploring keyboard skills, music theory and history, and ensemble. Advanced students study with SMU piano faculty including Carol Leone, Al Mouledous, David Karp, Cathy Lysinger, Kevin Gunter, Matthew Kline, and guests Andrew Parr (Stephen F. Austin University) and Linda Parr (Stephen F. Austin University Piano Preparatory Department). Faculty also includes many current and graduated faculty in the Piano Preparatory Department at SMU. Two levels of study: Intermediate and Advanced. Audition required for all levels. Students ages 12 and older are strongly encouraged to stay overnight. Applications due May 2, 2014. More info.
