Nora Henson is an adjunct professor in the Music Education Department at SMU Meadows School of the Arts. She teaches Fundamentals of Choral Conducting, Vocal Techniques, and Choral Literature & Pedagogy, and coordinates music student teachers.

Henson has been a music educator for 40 years and has been the conductor of the Youth Chorus (Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas) since its inception in 2003. She is an active clinician, consultant and adjudicator for music teachers, conductors and singers.

Henson earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Arts in conducting from Sam Houston State University under Dr. B. R. Henson. She has served as guest conductor for Orpheus Chamber Singers (Dallas), Schola Cantorum of Texas (Fort Worth) and Aria Chamber Chorus (Coppell).

The Texas Choral Directors Association has awarded Henson with the Choral Excellence Award (2013) and the Texas Choir Master Award (2019).
