To qualify as a Professional Engineer, you are required to meet three criteria: 1) pass the FE exam and become an Engineer in Training (EIT), 2) practice engineering responsibly for four years as certified by registered Professional Engineers and 3) then pass the Principles and Practice Exam in your particular field of study.
The FE exam is 8-hours long and covers the following topics: chemistry, physics, math, solid mechanics through mechanics of materials, elementary fluid mechanics, elementary electrical engineering, computer science, and engineering economics.
The Dean has arranged for faculty members to teach a refresher course. The course is free to Lyle Engineering students. All individuals taking the exam must register and pay the $125 examination fee online.
