MADI is designed to be a full-time, two-year program that meets in person. That said, we want to be as flexible and accommodating as possible and do offer part-time tracks as needed. We also account for several electives within the degree plan to allow for further exploration of interests across the university.
All students must complete the following three courses as part of the of core requirements (9 credit hours total):
- DSIN 5301/DSIN 7301 The Context and Impact of Design
- DSIN 5302/DSIN 7302 Form and Composition
- DSIN 5303/DSIN 7303 Human-Centered Design
All students must complete the following two Design and Innovation Studio Capstone Courses (10 credit hours total):
- DSIN 7501 Design and Innovation Studio 1
- DSIN 7502 Design and Innovation Studio 2
All students must complete 4 Electives that can be taken from DSIN listings or across the university. DSIN Listings include but are not limited to:
- DSIN 7390: Special Topics - Design for the Visual Environments - required elective
- DSIN 7390: Special Topics - Interactive Product Design
- DSIN 7391: Special Topics - Design Research Strategies
- ENGR 7390: Special Topics - Drawing for Visual Communication
