DataArts and SMU’s National Center for Arts Research to Merge

Melding the power of academic research and big data, SMU has merged its National Center for Arts Research (NCAR) with DataArts, the national resource for data about nonprofit arts, culture and humanities organizations. Psychology Today: Empathic People Use Social Brain Circuitry to Process Music

Zachary Wallmark, an assistant professor in the SMU Meadows School of the Arts, co-authors a study with researchers at UCLA finding that people with higher empathy differ from others in the way their brains process music.
