Become a Mentee

Mentors can help students develop greater self-awareness, provide honest and constructive feedback and expose them to engineering and other industry work environments. They can also encourage them to achieve their goals.

The Hart Center Industry Mentor Program connects junior or senior engineering students to an experienced engineering professional who is eager to serve as a resource for personal and professional development. The mentor will help build a student’s professional network by providing guidance on enrichment opportunities for co-op, internship or full-time positions. Above all, mentors will listen and help chart a student’s personal plan for success.

The Industry Mentor Program includes training sessions, one-on-one guidance from an experienced professional and invitations to networking events.

Participants must commit to:

  • Being involved for a minimum of one academic year (August-May)
  • Participating in regular one-on-one meetings with Industry Mentor
  • Attending one student mentee training session
  • Notifying the Hart Center of any challenges
