Lyle Students Selected by Sports Illustrated as "Super Fans"

It is not often that we find photos of engineering students in the venerable sports magazine Sports Illustrated.

Recently in their on-line edition, SI ran photos of SUPER FANS from the bowl season.

And what do you know, Lyle engineering students are front and center. This photo was taken at the BBVA Compass Bowl.

Who are these students?

"Elvis" in the center of the picture is Braven Griffin, a Mechanical Engineering First Year from Atlanta, Texas.  He is an Ambassador for Lyle (APES) and lives on the engineering floor on campus.

"Cheech" (holding up the "Need$ $cholarShip$ sign) is EMIS First Year student Michael Pittman from Denton, Texas.  He is a Lyle Scholar, a Lyle ambassador (APES) and in BME (Black Men Emerging).

The student on the left with the Ben Sellers sign is a Cox major.  Ben Sellers, however is a first year Mechanical Engineering Major from Pensacola, Florida.  He is a preferred walk-on on the football team where he is a linebacker.  He is a Lyle Scholar and also a Lyle Ambassador (APES).

You never know where a Lyle Engineer will show up!
