Recognizing the growing need to support SMU researchers’ data management needs, SMU Libraries offers a consultative service for research data management support. Librarians are available to provide one-on-one consultations for different aspects of the research data lifecycle in the following areas:
Data Access & Re-Use – Advice in making your research data accessible for sharing and re-use.
Data Management Planning – Assistance in accessing and completing data management plans using the DMP Tool.
Metadata – Instruction on creating metadata that makes your data more findable.
Data Storage and Preservation – Advice on best practices for storing and preserving your data.
Instruction and Training – Librarians are available to provide in-class training, or meet with you and/or a group of your students to offer basic workshops on different topics related to data management.
