DeGolyer Library Travel Grants

The Dorothy Sloan Fellowship Fund, established by generous gifts from her friends and family, supports scholars at any stage of their careers who plan to pursue research on bibliographical projects or women’s history at the DeGolyer Library.

Clements Center Grants

The William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies offers Research Travel Grants to applicants who live outside the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area in order to encourage a broader and more intensive use of the special collections at DeGolyer Library.

Grants are $700 per week that can be awarded for periods of one to two weeks to help to defray costs of travel, lodging, and research materials.

We highly recommended that you contact us if you are considering applying and have questions about the appropriateness of the DeGolyer collections to you research project.

Deadlines

Four separate research travel grants are available, with applications considered two times annually: May 15 (for use between June 1 and November 30) and November 15 (for use between December 1 and May 30). All grant funds must be used in their entirety during the award period.

Applications

You should provide a project outline and explain how work in the DeGolyer Library's collections will enhance their research. Please specify the length of research time needed at the library. You should also include a curriculum vitae and two letters of reference from persons who can assess the significance of your project and scholarship record.
