Biography

David J. Cho is a General Attorney, who oversees trademark and copyright issues for the AT&T Legal Department (over 440 attorneys) of a Fortune 10 and Dow Index company with over 260,000 employees.  He directs a team and outside counsel to manage and protect global trademark and domain name portfolios involving the parent company, subsidiaries and affiliates including the intellectual property company.  Representative activities include advice, counseling, clearance, prosecution, licensing, mergers & acquisitions, enforcement and litigation (civil and TTAB) over a wide variety of complex trademark issues. 
 
Prior to joining AT&T, he worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. and the US Patent & Trademark Office.  Some of his professional activities include co-chairing the legal department’s diversity committee for 2013-14, a past Member of the Board of Directors for the International Trademark Association; past Chair of the INTA Trademark Offices Practices Committee; mentor in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association; a board member of the IP Section of the Dallas Bar Association; and former co-chair of the corporate counsel committee for the Dallas Asian American Bar Association.  He is involved in various community, civic and church activities, receiving the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2012 and 2013.
