WATER LAW POWELL

The Course Syllabus is posted on TWEN.

First day:

Read Text, pp. 1-25

Read Gabriel Eckstein & Amy Hardberger, Scientific, Legal, and Ethical Foundations for Texas Water Law, in Mary Sahs (ed.), Essentials of Texas Water Resources (6th ed., State Bar of Texas 2020) (Article is posted on TWEN. It is also available in Google Scholar and at https://scholarship.law.tamu.edu/facscholar/579).

Be prepared to ask and answer questions about these introductory readings.  I expect to spend part of our time discussing current issues in water law and my view that water law is an important area for law school study that may provide opportunities for a rewarding law practice during your careers.
