Tickets:
Candidate and guest tickets are required. Tickets will be available online in early May and more information will be forthcoming on how to request your candidate and guest tickets. At this time, each candidate who is attending the ceremony is guaranteed a minimum of four guest tickets. If anything changes and SMU can safely increase this amount with the status of COVID-19 and CDC guidelines in mind, the university will post an update to the Commencement webpage. SMU kindly requests that you do not ask for extra tickets above the minimum four at this time. Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding during the ongoing pandemic.
Graduating students will continue to be contacted directly with important detailed information, including arrival instructions, ordering their diploma, tickets, regalia, and more.

Commonly referred to as our "reception", the invitation-only ticketed academic program degree recognition ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate as a cohort and honor each graduate as they walk across the stage.
The SMU Guildhall ceremony will follow Commencement and will include addresses by SMU Guildhall Director Gary Brubaker and a cohort-selected student speaker; a recognition of this year's Honors Awards recipients; and a socially-distanced processional in which each Cohort 29 graduate will be recognized as they individually cross the stage and take a portrait to commemorate the occasion.
This year's event will provide social distancing measures both in staging and seating. Masks will be required per SMU Covid-19 protocols. Students, faculty and staff will be provided a mask by SMU.
