Fury of the Ancients (FotA) is a gritty, isometric hack-and-slash role-playing game pitting a tribal warrior known as the Mu’alai against an ancient evil, the Hak’tu. The Mu’alai uses different weapons to crush the Hak’tu minions ranging from four-legged beasts to towering brutes and shamans. After killing enemies, the Mu’alai gains new powers allowing her to kill groups of enemies in one strike. The Mu’alai travels to three distinct environments to purge the Hak’tu from her land culminating in a final showdown with the Hak’tu king.
Fury of the Ancients is a project that fifteen developers created in four months of production. We developed FotA because we wanted to create a thrilling, action packed experience for the player. During production, our designers overcame the hurdles in balancing a role-playing game that included weapon, character, level, and enemy progression. Our programmers created a fully functional melee and special ability system along with custom artificial intelligence that enabled designers and artists to create exhilarating enemy battles. Our artists created hundreds of modular assets that exhibited detail even from an isometric perspective. Unified by a clear game vision and production schedule, the team is proud to present an action packed experience in Fury of the Ancients.
