Honors Convocation is a special event – a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of SMU’s finest students.
Retired and current faculty who have RSVP'd for the ceremony must arrive at McFarlin Auditorium in academic dress no later than 1:40 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023. Please make your way to the 3rd floor balcony area to line-up for the procession. Academic Ceremonies staff and ushers will be on hand to assist you.
If you are unable to attend Honors Convocation in person, the ceremony will be livestreamed at smu.edu/live.

Submit your RSVP here. The deadline to RSVP is Friday, April 14 by 5:00 p.m.
Faculty Regalia
Academic regalia may be rented through the SMU Bookstore. To ensure that regalia arrives in time, please place your order by Friday, March 24, 2023. Regalia should be returned to the Bookstore by Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
To process your order, please provide the following information:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Height (with shoes)
- Cap Size
- Degree (most recent)
- Area of study for most recent degree
- Name of school where this degree was earned
- City and State of school
- Best phone number where you can be reached
- SMU email address
- School and Department on campus
You may submit the above information via phone, email, or in person at the SMU Bookstore. If you call the Bookstore, any clerk can assist you. If you email the request, please put “To the attention of Honors Convocation Regalia” on your request.
