Students visiting from another 4-year institution or students who have earned a bachelor's degree or higher who are interested in earning credit but do not wish to pursue a degree may register through SMU's Undergraduate Visiting Student Services which provides convenient access to day and evening credit courses in a variety of academic disciplines.
Visiting students are eligible to take University credit courses provided all pre-requisites are satisfied. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of C or better in order to continue their credit studies at SMU.
Visiting students are admitted through the Division of Enrollment Services and are eligible to register on a space available basis. Admission as a visiting student does not qualify a student for admission to a degree program at SMU.

Tuition and Fees
Federal or state financial aid is typically not available to visiting students. Tuition for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 is $1,626 per credit hour, plus a general student fee of $248 per credit hour. A health center fee of $50 for part-time and $100 for full-time enrollment is required of all students. Tuition is due at the time of registration. After you are registered, you will be sent a registration confirmation with a follow-up email with instructions for paying tuition online. You may pay by MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. If you pay by credit card, a 2.75% service fee will be added to each transaction. You may also pay by e-check (electronic check); no service fee is charged.
SMU offers a four-installment payment plan through TuitionPay by Sallie Mae. The website to enroll is tuitionpaymentplan.com. There will be a nonrefundable enrollment fee. The four-installment payment plan is the only one available to visiting students.
