Ceremony, Tickets and Security Information

General admission entry tickets are required for all guests, regardless of age, for the Friday evening Baccalaureate Service in McFarlin Auditorium and the Saturday morning Commencement Convocation in Moody Coliseum. Seating is limited and is first come, first served. A ticket does not guarantee a seat.  Saving seats is not permitted.  Parties should enter together.  Once the venue reaches capacity, guests will be directed to a simulcast location on campus.  Simulcast locations do not require a ticket to attend.

Entry tickets must be requested by the degree candidate and provided to guests prior to the event. Tickets are not available on-site. Only candidates who notified the University Registrar of participation in Baccalaureate or Commencement can request tickets and provide them to their guests.

Candidates must have SMU regalia and have declared their intention to participate. Candidates who failed to register their participation and now wish to participate can request to participate by emailing registrar@smu.edu no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15

Ticket Warning: It is a violation of SMU policy for a candidate to sell or barter an academic ceremony guest ticket. Doing so may result in the loss of access to guest tickets and/or the filing of a judicial case. Each ticket has a unique code and can only be used once. Once a ticket code has been used to gain admittance to the Coliseum, no other use of the code is permitted.

Please read carefully the rules related to each event.
