Honors Convocation

Honors Convocation

The SMU community and beyond is coping with the effect of COVID-19. During this time it is our responsibility to prioritize the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Honors Convocation scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2020. Students who were invited to Convocation will be mailed a program and memento recognizing their achievement. You can learn more about SMU's response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak at https://blog.smu.edu/coronavirus-covid-19/.

During Honors Convocation, we celebrate the academic excellence achieved by SMU students. Please join us on Monday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. in McFarlin Auditorium as we honor this year's recipients.

Honors Convocation is a tradition at SMU that recognizes new honor society inductees, school and departmental awards, national fellowships, various distinguished scholarships and internships, as well as graduating University Honors Program students.

New honor society inductees and students completing the University Honors Program will be recognized during the convocation as groups, by standing in place.

Students receiving school and departmental awards, national fellowships and various distinguished scholarships and internships will be recognized individually on stage.
