Perot Museum of Nature and Science

louis jacobsOn December 1, 2012, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science opened the doors of its iconic building and in less than a year it has had over 1.5 million visitors.  ISEM is proud to have supported students and researchers who have been recognized by the Perot Museum through its incorporation of their research results into the T. Boone Pickens Life Then and Now Hall.  ISEM has also supported the introduction of a new Earth Science course at SMU, Earth and Life, which takes advantage of the tremendous assets provided by SMU and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

The relationship with the Perot Museum is dynamic and ongoing. Unquestionably, SMU students have benefitted from their close relationship with renowned paleontologist Tony Fiorillo.  He is an adjunct member of SMU’s Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences, he serves on graduate research committees, and he includes SMU students on his expeditions to the Arctic, including ones that excavated the museum’s hallmark dinosaur, Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum.
