Honors Convocation

Please arrive early to ensure you are in the proper place in line. Photographers will be present.

New honor society inductees and students completing the University Honors Program will be recognized during the convocation as groups, by standing in place. Students receiving school and departmental awards, national fellowships, and various distinguished scholarships and internships will be recognized individually on stage. Each participating student receives a memento to commemorate this special occasion.

Meadows Gala at Winspear Opera House

Meet at Flagpole, 5:30 PM

We will meet on campus and walk to the Mockingbird Station DART stop and take the train to the Arts District. SMU Meadows will showcase the critically acclaimed Meadows Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Paul Phillips, and the Meadows Dance Ensemble performing three world premieres by internationally acclaimed choreographers. Proceeds from the event provide scholarships for the Meadows Scholars Program.

Caroline Fraser’s Pulitzer Prize–winning historical biography Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder masterfully fills in the gaps of what has previously been known about Wilder’s life.
