Biographical Note:
Kristin Halvorsen served as Minister of Finance in Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s government from 2005 to 2009, representing the Socialist Left Party (Socialistisk Venstreparti or SV) in cabinet. She later served as Minister of Education between 2009 and 2013. Ms. Halvorsen led SV from 1997 to 2012 and was a SV parliamentarian from 1989 to 2013.
