Samantha Matthews and Shirin Tavakoli

Following her heart and making a better world.

Samantha Matthews passion for advocacy was ignited in high school while working with orphans in Romania. When she graduated from SMU in Spring of 2012 she was one of the first two SMU students to graduate with a major in Human Rights. Samantha has since gone on to pursue her passion for human rights. 











Answering a Call to Activism

Shirin Tavakoli graduated in Spring of 2012 with a major in Human Rights from the Embrey Human Rights Program. Shirin has traveled internationally to work on human rights and specifically women’s rights issues. Since graduation she has worked for congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson.
