The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health Psychology to begin August 2019. A PhD is required at the time of the appointment. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain a highly productive research program that can generate external funding. They must also be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will complement research (in biological, child & family, psychopathology, and/or social psychology) being conducted by the faculty and graduate students in our APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology.


The research area is open, but topics of interest include: (1) psychobiology of health and/or illness; (2) health intervention or prevention research; (3) health risk behaviors; and (4) minority health and health disparities.


Applicants with a PhD in any relevant area of psychology will be considered for the position. Current faculty members have established strong collaborative relationships with medical centers and community agencies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
