Devin was born in Woodland Hills, California and grew up in a small town outside of Los Angeles called Moorpark. As an undergraduate, Devin focused on a broad range of history, taking classes in United States, European, Ancient and Asian fields. For his B.A. thesis, he wrote about the controversial Munich Agreement of 1938, focusing on the topic of appeasement from the British perspective. His research earned him first place at TCU's 2015 AddRan Festival. Devin has decided to pursue a professional career in the field of history and to attend SMU for a Master's Degree in Global History. He is interested in Modern Germany, specifically in the realm of German migration, nationalism and transnationalism throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
