Katharine Boswell received her M.A. and Ph.D. from SMU, where she studied Victorian and Modernist Literature. Her scholarly work focuses on women, material culture, and domestic spaces. Her teaching is divided between SMU's Women's and Gender Studies Program and the Writing and Reasoning Program. In her writing courses, she encourages students to see their writing as a process consistently informed by collaborative feedback and careful self-evaluation. She hopes they learn that writing is a valuable skill that will serve them well no matter where their post-SMU careers may take them.
