Nineteenth-century African American lit and nineteenth-century southern literature.


Anna Nelson is a literary historian with focused interests in African American literature and Southern Studies. She has published articles in PMLA and African American Review and is a 2018-2019 Postdoctoral Fellow at the Bill and Carol Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry at Emory University. Her current book project researches literary representations of the South written by African American authors between the end of the Civil War and the early twentieth century.
