May 2017 Graduation

On Saturday, May 20, the Economics Department honored its many spring and summer graduates in the annual commencement ceremony.  Department Chair Santanu Roy addressed the audience of graduates and their families, and Dr. James Lakewas given the Mangam Teaching Award in recognition of his innovative instruction in Economics.  Over one hundred undergraduates received their diplomas.  Five students graduated with their Master's degrees.  Finally, five students received their doctoral degrees in Economics: Cullum Clark, Xiang Han, Mu Liu, Punarjit Roychowdhury, and Yixiang Zhang.
