Professor Nicolay (Nick) Tsarevsky has been awarded a highly competitive NSF CAREER Award for his project titled, "CAREER: Employing ligand exchange reactions involving hypervalent compounds of iodine and other main-group elements in the synthesis of dynamic and functional polymers." Nick and his team will develop new types of dynamic polymers that can be used for futuristic self-healing materials, coatings, drug-delivery, and life-like tissue engineering. As part of this award, Nick aims to broaden chemistry education through a range of courses at the interface of art and science, including "Science and the Stage" and "Chemistry and Technology in Art." Congratulations, Nick!
