Sponsoring Membership with the Forté Foundation
The Cox MBA programs and the Forté Foundation share a common vision of providing resources and opportunities for women in business. Through this affiliation, all MBA women at Cox receive a jumpstart on their career search, a broad national network, and scholarships for attending business school. Women at Cox are encouraged to attend the annual Forté MBA Women's Conference to tap into those resources. In both 2016 and 2017, women who attended the conference were offered internship opportunities before they even began their MBA program! There are great company connections at these conferences!
In order to be a sponsoring member of the Forté Foundation, MBA programs are required to offer two substantial scholarships to full-time women MBA students each year (Forté Fellows). The Cox Full-Time MBA program has awarded more than 75 of these scholarships to women MBA students in the past five years. That's over seven times the requirement! All women applicants are automatically considered for these scholarships, but priority is given to applicants who apply in the first two rounds. What's more, according to Forte Foundation research, women are benefiting from the Value of an MBA like never before.
Women in Business Club
While at Cox, women from all of the graduate business programs are encouraged to participate in the Women in Business Club, making this student-led organization one of the largest at Cox. The Women in Business Club promotes professional and personal development through social and networking events, guest speakers, and mentoring opportunities for young girls in the area.
The Women in Business Club is a registered chapter of the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA). All students who are members of the Women in Business Club receive a free membership to NAWMBA and discounts for their annual MBA Women International Leadership Conference & Career Fair, an outstanding opportunity to meet with hundreds of companies in a variety of industries.
