Mr. Ronald J. Blair is an adjunct lecturer in accounting at Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business with a focus on federal taxation and ethics for professional accountants.  Additionally, he continues an ongoing adjunct faculty role at Dallas Baptist University, and he holds a full-time faculty position as a senior lecturer at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM).  Previously, in 1999, he transitioned to full-time as the UTD JSOM’s director of budget and financial matters, while continuing in an adjunct faculty role.  In 1991, he initially joined UTD as part-time adjunct faculty member, while employed in a former professional position with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Since 2001, Mr. Blair has offered his expertise in consulting roles as a certified public accountant (CPA) in federal tax mediation and dispute resolution issues.  He also has been engaged as an expert witness.  His career with the IRS provided 25 years of experience in the field of federal taxation, largely focusing on resolution of disputed tax issues for both large- and mid-size corporations, as well as individuals.  During that extensive career, he held various senior management positions:

  • Assistant Regional Director of Appeals, Mid-states Region and Southwest Region

  • Assistant to the Director, Appeals Division, National Office, Washington, DC.

In addition to his designation as a CPA, he is a member of numerous professional organizations:
